Internet of Things with Smart Technologies

Internet of Things (IOT)
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, that have the capability to transfer the data over a network. It is used to transfer the data without any interaction between human to human and human to computer.

Internet of Things consists of multiple technologies such as smart home, open data, computing devices, computing automation, smart auto, wireless network, cloud computing, commodity sensors and embedded systems. It helps in improving connection between different connected electronic devices. It saves money and time by transferring data over a network.

Smart Home technology refers to the appliances such as thermostats, home security system, cameras and other applications.

IoT mainly consists of three categories:

  1. Things that collect information and then send it.
  2. Things that receive information and act on it.
  3. Things that do both.

Collecting and Sending Information– It can be done by sensors. Sensors may be of different types such as temperature sensor, motion sensor, air quality sensor, light sensor, and moisture sensor. These sensors automatically collects the information from the environment through a connection. In the farming, soil moisture sensor can tells the farmers that when their crop needs to be watered. It helps the farmers to water the crops on time, so that they have no need of watering too much or too little.

As we humans to make sense of the world, we need sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing then machine needs sensors to make sense of the world.

Receiving and acting on Information- Receiving and acting on information simply means our printer prints a document by receiving a document and prints it. As like this, our car receive a signal from our car key and then opens the door.

Benefits of IoT to any Organisation:

  • Save time and money
  • They can make better decisions
  • Enhance the employee productivity
  • Helps in improving the customer’s experience
  • Monitor their overall business process
